Footstamp (this website) respects your privacy and handles collected information as described below.

1. Information collected and its purpose

Your entered weight, target duration, tempo, timer mode, sound type, volume and screen wake settings are saved in this browser's local storage so you can use them again. The settings feature does not send these values to a server. The latest 365 finished workouts are also stored in this browser, including end date and time, duration, calculated steps, estimated calories and how the workout ended. Weight itself is not stored in workout history. Use Delete workout history on the home page to remove history. History does not sync between devices and may be lost when browser site data is cleared. Use Restore default settings to reset settings such as weight; this is separate from deleting history. Clearing browser site data removes both. Reset your data after using a shared device.

Names, contact details and message content you provide when contacting us are used to respond, investigate issues and improve the service. We retain them as needed and appropriately delete information no longer required.

Your manual language choice is saved in local storage in this browser. The entry page uses your browser language preferences on your first visit. Automatic language selection does not collect or send your location.

2. Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of data stored in your browser by websites. We use local storage for settings and workout history. Google Analytics uses cookies if you consent to usage analytics. External services may also use cookies or similar technology. You can restrict or delete cookies in your browser, although some external-service features may stop working.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to improve usability. This app loads its Google Analytics tag only when you enable Allow usage analytics on the home page. We aggregate page views, time while the page is visible and focused, timer button actions and counts, timer running time excluding preparation and pauses, starts, pauses, resumes, completions, early finishes, resets, interface language, and device, browser and approximate region information collected by Google Analytics. Time increments after consent are sent periodically. We also count visits with at least 30 seconds of focused viewing and at least 1 or 5 minutes of timer use. We cannot tell whether someone physically exercised. Events do not include entered weight, steps, calories, saved workout history or history IDs. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled for this analytics tag.

Analytics consent is optional. You can use workouts and history without it. Turning off analytics on the home page stops subsequent Google Analytics transmissions from this app. This does not delete information already collected. Delete cookies and stored consent through your browser's site-data settings. For Google's handling of information, see the Google Privacy Policy for details.

We also use traffic statistics and performance measurement provided by our host, Cloudflare. Cloudflare and hosting services may process IP addresses, access times and related information to operate securely. The analytics consent switch above controls Google Analytics, separately from Cloudflare and advertising services. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy for more information.

4. Third-party advertising and Google AdSense

We are applying for Google AdSense and plan to display advertising. The home page includes the Google AdSense script. Whether ads appear depends on review status and delivery settings.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on previous visits to this and other websites. Google's advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to show ads based on browsing information.

You can change personalized advertising settings in Google My Ad Center. You can also use third-party advertising choices. For details, see Google's explanation of advertising.

5. Managing personal information and sharing it with third parties

We take appropriate steps to protect personal information against leaks, unauthorized access and loss. We do not provide it to third parties except with consent or as required by law. Contact requests use Google Forms, where submitted information is processed and stored on Google's services.

7. Disclaimer

Displayed steps are calculated from tempo, and calories are estimates using METs. They do not guarantee actual movement, energy use or results and are not intended for medical diagnosis. We strive for accuracy but do not guarantee the completeness of content or functionality. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from use.

We may revise this policy as the service or applicable laws change. Revisions are published on this page with an updated date.
